Self-Drive
The Sunshine Coast is easily accessible by a number of major highways. The Crocodile Hunter Lodge is located at 88 Irwin Road in Beerwah, and is approximately a 60-minute drive north from Brisbane via the Bruce Highway. To receive further information on the driving route, see below.
Directions
FROM THE NORTH
- Follow the Bruce Highway until the Landsborough/Steve Irwin Way exit 188 on the left
- Take the exit which goes back over the Bruce Highway and get onto Steve Irwin Way
- Follow Steve Irwin Way, passing the Mooloolah exit on the right and the Landsborough exit on the right
- After approximately five kilometres, pass Australia Zoo on the left and an exit to Irwin Road will arrive on the left
- Proceed straight on Irwin Road, following curve to the left, and you will arrive at 88 Irwin Road - the entrance of The Crocodile Hunter Lodge
Directions
FROM THE SOUTH
- Follow the Bruce Highway until the Steve Irwin Way/Glasshouse Mountains (Tourist Route 24) exit on the left
- Take the exit (there is a big brown sign with Beerburrum, Maleny and Landsborough on it)
- Follow Steve Irwin Way for 18 kilometres, and pass the Beerburrum exit on the left, the Glasshouse Mountains exit on the left and the Beerwah exit on the left
- Follow Steve Irwin Way for approximately three kilometres, and take the exit to Irwin Road on the right
- Proceed straight on Irwin Road, following curve to the left, and you will arrive at 88 Irwin Road - the entrance of The Crocodile Hunter Lodge
By Air
Sunshine Coast Airport (Maroochydore) is a 30 minute drive from The Crocodile Hunter Lodge, and welcomes direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Cairns and Canberra year-round, with flights from Auckland, New Zealand seasonally. The Brisbane domestic and international airports are approximately an hour drive away from The Crocodile Hunter Lodge.
By Rail
The Queensland Rail (QR) Citytrain has a seven-day service that operates between the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Beerwah. Passengers travelling on the QR Citytrain that arrives in Beerwah can be picked up by The Crocodile Hunter Lodge’s courtesy coach.
The Crocodile Hunter Lodge courtesy coach meets most trains at the Beerwah Rail Station to transfer passengers to the Lodge. If the bus is not at the station, call the Reception Team at the Lodge and a bus will be sent out for your convenience.
